Poets should try to explode as many worlds into a page as possible.

that is precisely why a publisher wants 240 pages. Because your poems are old enough and lost enough from the time and meaning that wrote them.

Frankly being is POET is a set up for failure, if you can’t accept that, and then you should really move on and fail at something else.
